"We're In The Movies!"
Several years ago a movie was made about the life of Alabama's
legendary "Bear" Bryant. There was much controversy (about the
casting of Gary Bussey as the "Bear") among Alabama's legions
of Bryant fans. The movie was not successful. (Some of us did not
attend a showing the first week and found that the movie had
already disappeared from local screens when we tried to see it the
following week . . . that's show biz!) The SJO had a bit part in the
movie, for which all of us had to have our hair redone in a 30's "do."
We played a 30's style hotel band which was supposed to be on
the stage This photo was taken from the set's "bandstand," looking
out over the "ballroom" towards the cameras.
