Over most of the past three decades the Sentimental Journey Orchestra has played
for just about every kind of event: conventions, country club dances, fund-raising
balls, wedding receptions, in concert, stage shows and more! We've performed in hotels, clubs,
theaters, barns, airplane hangers, halls, a railroad station platform and once...in a
meadow! We've played for audiences of five waiters (the sponsor forgot to notify his audience,
so we played to the waiters for an hour!), or in concert for a former U. S. President, to an audience of 5,500 (An international
airline's annual meeting and dinner-dance)! Every time we think there's nothing new,
... something new shows up! It's always fun. Read what our clients have told us!
A letter from the Rabun County Music Festival Association
Dear Mr. Mason,
On behalf of the Rabun County Music Festival I want to thank you for the exciting concert performance of the Sentimental Journey Orchestra. The "Big Band" sound was never more professionally done with vocalists, arrangements, and upbeat selections all merging to create the best "Big Band" around. We Had rave reviews from our audience with encouragement tp "bring them back". Sentimental Journey Orchestra brings back the swing, jazz, and toe tapping sounds we all love,
The concert on July 23rd (2006) was a highlight of our season. We highly recommend Sentimental Journey Orchestra to all who enjoy the big band era.
Sincerely,
Barbara Kobacker
Chairman, Rabun County Music Festival Association.

The Sentimental Journey Orchestra
Atlanta , Georgia 30308
Ladies and Gentlemen:
I wanted to pass along some of the comments about your performance last Saturday night at the historic Langdale Theater.
They range from outstanding to best ever and many in between, all very complimentary.
I enjoyed working with all of you. The music was wonderful and the vocals were superb. I now can understand why my friend Phil Harrison in Atlanta was so glad to recommend your group.
I am still receiving favorable comments today and we hope to invite you back again. In the meantime, if anyone in the promotion business needs a recommendation, please ask them to give me a call.
Good luck to you all and thanks again for an evening of good music, good times and good memories.
Sincerely,
Bill Gilbert
Dear SJO,
You may recall I'm the person who originally contacted you about the
possibility of the Sentimental Journey Orchestra playing at Langdale
Historic Theatre as part of its on-going series of musical
presentations. I put you in contact with Bill Gilbert and, as they say,
the rest is history, because the performance that took place yesterday
was truly a sensation!
I've been a big band lover for years and not only have attended most of
the 42 concerts held at Langdale Theatre, but for years now have gotten
together a regular group of out-of-town attendees (dubbed as the Langdale
Concert Gang) and we regularly bring a dozen to two dozen down to the
Valley - first for "supper" at some nearby location and then we have a
block of seats at the concerts.
I review all this simply to say our gang's response to Sentimental Journey
topped any reaction we've ever had and all have been positive, I must
say. Talking with an estactic Bill Gilbert afterward, I certainly didn't
have to encourage him to re-book your band - he was already convinced from
the overwhelming reaction of the crowd - as it seemed your band members
were too.
Please pass along to every one associated with your fine organization our
sincere appreciation for a most enjoyable evening! I am proud to have had
a modest part in making this beneficial connection!
Regards,
Phil Harrison,
Atlanta
Hello SJO,
My husband, Andy Woodman and I, Meridith (Keller) Woodman had the
pleasure to see the SJO again this past Saturday at our friends wedding -Bryan &
Shelley Weinlein! ... We were married on April 10,
and you all played at our reception at Callanwolde! The most
magical night of our lives!!
It was wonderful to see you all again and dance our song - "Fly Me to the
Moon"!! Bryan was a groomsman in our wedding and he loved you guys so much
that he wanted you to play at his wedding! It brought back such truly
beautiful and happy memories for us to dance to your beautiful music -
special thanks to Steve for wishing us a happy 3 year anniversary and
dedicating our song to us!
You all helped to make our wedding day truly magical and the most blessed
day of our lives! We would love to see the SJO again soon and dance to
that gorgeous music! Please put us on your email distribution
and let us know when you will be playing next. We know that
you used to play once a month - are you still doing this?
Stay well and thanks truly for the wonderful and cherished memories - this past
Saturday too!
Meridith & Andy Woodman
